Current UMRC research is focused to three very different environmental exposure groups:
- Military actives or veterans who have been exposed to militarized uranium, depleted uranium, or transuranics
- Industrial residents or workers who have been exposed to occupational, industrial or residential environments associated with uranium, depleted uranium, or transuranics
- Conflict or post-conflict civilians exposed to battlefield environments associated with uranium, depleted uranium, or transuranics
